Landmark used for controlled burn
Last Thursday, the Parkers Prairie Fire Department did a controlled burn with the church, the former District 41 school building, located on County Highway 139, east of Parkers Prairie. The property is owned by John Meyer. Six schools operated in Parkers Prairie Township. Of those six schools, District 50 no longer exists, and three were moved (District 40 to the villag of Parkers Prairie, District 11 to Section 19 and District 25 (the village school) to Effington Township Section 23). District 41 (above) was still located on its original site and had been converted into a church.
